Saltdean is a village suburb to the east of Brighton, on the Sussex coast of the English Channel. Between the groynes, the gravel beach slopes steeply at first but levels off with more sand towards low water. Behind the beach there is the lido and at the foot of the cliff a promenade all the way to Brighton. This bathing water usually achieves high water quality standards.
Water quality is classified as "Excellent" based on samples taken from the previous 4 years, 2021 through to 2024.
